Saturday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Pick up your Adopt-a-Fish Certificate on the West Vancouver Memorial Library Swáy̓wi Temíxw (rooftop garden) and head to Memorial Park to release a juvenile Coho Salmon (called a smolt) into the wild! Volunteers from the West Vancouver Streamkeeper Society will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and assist with the release of the salmon, which are raised by Department of Fisheries and Ocean staff at the Capilano River Hatchery. At 10:30 a.m., families can enjoy a special Fishy Fun Family Storytime in the West Vancouver Memorial Library rooftop garden.
Adopt-a-Fish is open to elementary-aged school children and their families and will proceed rain or shine. No registration is required.
