The challenge is on!
Read for at least 15 minutes a day this summer for 50 days*
You can read anything you like! Books, ebooks, audiobooks, books in any language, chapter books, comics, or non-fiction.
HOW Does VIRTUAL SRC WORK?
Simply register online and start tracking your reading at home.
Track your reading
You’ll receive a confirmation email with your SRC Starter Kit within 48 hours. It contains a link to your printable Reading Tracker. You can also pick up optional reading logs, bookmarks, and stickers at the library, upstairs in the Youth Department
Keep track of all the days you read for 15 minutes or more. When you reach 50 days, you have completed the challenge!
Starting Tuesday July 6th all registrants will receive the Weekly SRC Scoop. It’s packed with the latest news, virtual program offerings, reading recommendations, and more!
Who can participate?
The Kids Summer Reading Club is for kids in kindergarten to grade 6 as well as pre-readers. It is for kids who enjoy listening to someone read books to them, kids who can do a bit of reading on their own with some help, and kids who can read on their own.
Students in grades 7-12 starting in September can join the Teen Reading Club
When you register for the SRC, your school earns one point towards the trophy. The West Vancouver Elementary School with the highest percentage of points wins one of three SRC trophies! (based on school size)
School standings last updated July 24
Your Principal really wants that trophy – just watch this video!
* Everyone who completes their 50 days of reading wins a medal in the Fall! More on that later in the summer.
