Computer Essentials I: The Mouse, The Keyboard, and Windows

FreeThis is a gentle, introductory class on using a mouse and keyboard, opening and closing a program, and getting started using the Windows operating system. No previous computer experience is required.
After this class, you will be able to:
- Recognize different types of computers (desktop, all-in-one, laptop, mobile device)
- Identify the main parts of a computer (focusing on desktops), including the power button, USB ports, and headphone jack
- Differentiate between hardware and software
- Differentiate between Operating Systems and programs
- Recognize when software requires an update and respond appropriately
- Understand the different mouse pointers on the screen
- Double-click and right-click
- Drag and drop, scroll
- Locate essential keys on the keyboard and know their functions
- Identify icons on a desktop
- Adjust volume/mute audio
