Seedy Saturday

FreeKick off the gardening season with our Seedy Saturday event! Connect with your fellow garden-loving community members and discover some seeds to start your garden.
Activities and Prizes
- Seed Exchange
- Chat with our resident bee expert about raising native mason bees and about the Library’s mason bee lending program
- Garden-fun storytime for families of all ages, 10:30-11:00 a.m. (in the Storyhouse)
- Prizes! There will be opportunities to win prizes donated by Maple Leaf Garden Centre
Seed Exchange
- Need seeds?
- Pick up some free seeds collected from the Library’s garden and community members’ gardens
- Have seeds?
- Bring your saved seeds to share with your neighbours
- Seeds should be in labelled envelopes with the type of seed and date collected
- You can include helpful details such as colour, growing conditions, etc.
- Seeds should be less than two years old
- Do not bring seeds of invasive species!
- You may bring store-bought seeds that are still in their unopened packaging
- Bring your saved seeds to share with your neighbours

- This is a drop-in event, no registration is required. Provide your email below if you would like to receive an event reminder.
- We will be outside under a tent on the Library’s rooftop garden, Swáy̓wi Temíxw. Dress for the weather.
- Seed quantities may be limited.
