Adult Program Proposal Form
The Library presents programs that meet the educational, cultural, and recreational interests and needs of community members. Programs are arranged four to six months in advance and must be free and open to the public.
Each year, in addition to our regular programming, we select a limited number of program proposals that connect to the Library’s strategic goals and which we have organizational capacity to support.
Are you interested in partnering with the Library to offer a program? Please fill in as much of this form as possible to start the conversation. Due to the high volume of proposals we receive, we will respond within six to eight weeks and only if we decide to pursue your proposal.
* = the field is required
The information on this form is collected under the authority of Sections 26(c) and 27(1)(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act to help us assess and respond to your enquiry. Presenting a Program with WVML
The topics we consider for partner programs generally fall into the following areas:
- Reading, writing & publishing
- Local history
- Digital creation
- Arts & culture
- Events that spark dialogue or build community
We do not generally partner to deliver programs that:
- Are better suited to a community centre or continuing education program
- Are crafts-based
- Have any promotional or commercial content
For queries about exhibiting in our Art Gallery space, please fill out the Call for Artists form on our website or contact Taren Urquhart, Arts & Special Events Programmer, at turquhart@westvanlibrary.ca.
Fill out the form below and tell us about your program.
When reviewing program proposals, we use our strategic values to help guide our decision-making in addition to our collective knowledge of community interests.
If we decide to pursue your idea, we’ll initiate a conversation to get more information, work out the logistics and identify ways to plan the best possible library program. We occasionally connect potential partners with similar proposals to collaborate on a shared event, or refer you to another organization that is more appropriate for your needs.
All partner programs must be free and open to the public. The Library is valued by the community as a trusted, non-commercial space, and programs primarily intended to promote a product or service will not be considered. You must be able to supply a laptop or tablet if you are planning to share presentation slides.
While we welcome ideas from all West Vancouverites, we are unable to accept all of the proposals we receive, and prioritize programs that connect to the Library’s strategic goals and which we have organizational capacity to support.
You are welcome to submit your proposal at any time. However, please keep in mind that the Library generally plans programs four to six months in advance.
If we decide to pursue your proposal, we will respond within six to eight weeks from the date you submitted your proposal.
