West Vancouver, BC—After eight years of service, West Vancouver Memorial Library Board Trustee Koichi Ronald (Ron) Shimoda has reached the end of his term. Ron served on the Board’s Finance Committee and has also sat on the WVML Foundation Board of Directors as a Trustee Liaison.
Ron’s contribution to public libraries has gone above and beyond. He spent six years representing West Vancouver as a Board Director and Treasurer for Public Library InterLINK, a federation of 18 public libraries in the Lower Mainland. He was recognized by a District of West Vancouver Community Commitment award for this outstanding leadership in our community.
This year, Trustees Petra Cottier, Dieter Diedericks, and Cynthia Garton are also leaving the Board. Petra chaired the Board’s Finance Committee, Dieter chaired the Infrastructure Committee, and Cynthia chaired the Engagement Committee and also served as a Trustee Liaison on the WVML Foundation Board of Directors.
WVML Director Stephanie Hall says, “These volunteers have worked tirelessly to make our Library a special place, and we are so grateful to all of them.”
