Local Voices: Maritime History of Howe Sound with Eric Andersen and the Britannia Mine Story with Diane Mitchell

Local maritime history is a world in itself. Eric Andersen will talk about the various uses of Howe Sound in the past and present, looking at a future that holds the Howe Sound biosphere and a proposed LNG export site. On behalf of the Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Region, Diane Mitchell will tell the story of the Britannia Mine Museum.
Based in Squamish, Eric Andersen is a local historian with a wide range of interests, a Councillor with the District of Squamish, and a director of the Forest History Association of B.C. Diane Mitchell works with the Howe Sound Biosphere Region. She was the Curator of Education and Collections at the Britannia Mine Museum.
