Calling all students in grades K-6. We challenge you to read this summer for 15 minutes a day for 50 days or more! You can read whatever you want, wherever you want, and however you want! Books, comics, non-fiction, novels, audiobooks, ebooks, magazines—in any language!
The Kids Summer Reading Club is for kids who can do a bit of reading on their own with some help, and kids who can read totally on their own.
Students in grades 7+ can join the Teen Reading Club.
Each week starting Tuesday July 2, Summer Reading Club members can visit the library to check-in their reading, collect the weekly sticker and enter the weekly draw prize. We are giving away gift cards to Kidsbooks, Indigo, and more!
Everyone who reaches the goal of reading for 50 days this summer, will be awarded their very own reading medal in September.
There are three SRC trophies to award to the schools with the highest percentage of students who register and complete the 50-day reading challenge.
Of course you can read whatever you want this summer, but here are some of our favourites!
