🗓️ The Library will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on November 11, following the Remembrance Day ceremony and reception. 🗓️
Congratulations to all those who participated in this year’s Summer Reading Club!
Summer Reading Club has wrapped up for this year!
We had an all-time participation high with over 2000 kids registered!
Calling all students in grades K-6: We challenge you to read this summer for 15 minutes a day for 50 days or more! You can read whatever you want, wherever you want, and however you want! Books, comics, non-fiction, novels, audiobooks, ebooks, magazines—in any language!
The Kids Summer Reading Club is for kids who can do a bit of reading on their own with some help, and kids who can read totally on their own.
Students in grades 7+ can join the Teen Reading Club.
Each week starting Tuesday, July 2, Summer Reading Club members can visit the Library to check-in their reading, collect their weekly sticker, and enter the weekly prize draw. We are giving away gift cards to Kidsbooks, Indigo, and more!
Stickers will be available at the Youth desk throughout September.
Everyone who reaches the goal of reading for 50 days this summer will be awarded their very own reading medal in September.
Collect your medal by registering for one of our medal ceremonies:
Unable to attend a ceremony? Stop by the Youth desk to pick up your medal anytime between September 18-30. Medals available while supplies last. Readers will receive completion certificates if we run out of medals.
There are three SRC trophies to award to the schools with the highest percentage of students who register and complete the 50-day reading challenge.
The winning schools will be announced on October 3.
Of course you can read whatever you want this summer, but here are some of our favourites!
Registration for Summer Reading Club programs opens June 1!
