Beyond 94: Truth and Reconciliation in Canada

Created by the CBC Indigenous Unit, Beyond 94 allows you to track outcomes on the Calls to Action, learn more about the residential school(s) that operated near their communities, and discover concrete examples of how Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians can work together. The project is a living resource as new documentaries, residential school survivor stories, ideas and community-based action around reconciliation are added.

National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation

The NCTR is a place of learning and dialogue where the truths of the residential school experience will be honoured and kept safe for future generations.

First Voices

FirstVoices is an online space for Indigenous communities to share and promote language, oral culture and linguistic history. Language teams work with elders to curate and upload audio recordings, dictionaries, songs and stories. Search over 75 language sites, many of which are accessible for public learning.

Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society offers programs to anyone in the Lower Mainland and the Sea to Sky, with help over the phone to others who call regardless of where they live. Family Support Centre provides personal support and information on major mental illnesses — schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, borderline personality disorder, concurrent disorders, and anxiety disorders.

Table Matters

The North Shore Table Matters Network has been building relationships between local governments and community groups with interests in food security, urban agriculture and local food systems since 2005.

 

Hollyburn Family Services

Hollyburn provides a range of professional counselling services to individuals, couples and families, supports families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other pervasive developmental disorders, provides residential care for children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges, and offers training and support to foster parents and extended families.

Family Services of North Shore

Family Services of the North Shore is a non-profit, community-based agency.
