Andy J. Krawczyk is an international education consultant based in West Vancouver. He retired from the Vancouver School Board in 2010 after a 36-year career in public education in British Columbia, including 10 years teaching History/Social Studies at Carson Graham in North Vancouver and 15 years as a secondary school principal. Since retirement, he has worked with international education organizations, schools, and districts, specializing in curriculum development and educational leadership, and is an active member of the International Baccalaureate Educators Network (IBEN), contributing to and chairing IB evaluation and accreditation teams worldwide.
Andy has a long record of community leadership and volunteer service on the North Shore. He co-chaired West Vancouver District Planning Working Groups, including the Housing Dialogue and Upper Lands initiatives, served on the inaugural Board of the West Vancouver Community Centre, and held board leadership roles with Impact North Shore and the Kay Meek Centre. He currently serves as Chair of the West Vancouver Memorial Library and received the West Vancouver District Community Engagement Award in 2014.

Bahar Hafizi is a partner at DuMoulin Black LLP, specializing in corporate and commercial law with a focus on lending and M&A transactions. A longtime West Vancouver resident, she lives in the community with her husband and two children.
Bahar is an active member of her children’s school and the broader community, and believes strongly in philanthropic work. Outside of her practice, she is an avid reader and a strong advocate for libraries and literacy.

Andrea Basco has nearly thirty years of experience in the global financial sector in digital transformation, enterprise-wide technology governance, and risk oversight. As former Chief Information Officer for HSBC Bank Canada, she led the national technology function, overseeing a global team of 1,000 staff and executing a major financial transaction. Her career includes leadership roles in risk, retail, and commercial banking, managing critical programs and digital platforms serving customers in more than 55 countries.
A lifelong resident of West Vancouver and mentor with the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, Andrea is a strong advocate for learning, inclusivity, and community. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and lives in West Vancouver on the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She enjoys skiing, volleyball, reading, travel, and spending time outdoors.

Sarah Dennis has over twenty years of experience as a practising lawyer in both the private and public sectors in the areas of corporate and commercial law, contracts, and real estate. In her current role as Legal Counsel for the Ministry of the Attorney General, she works across ministries to provide contract expertise on major procurements, social programs, and strategic projects. She previously worked as a general solicitor at a full-service law firm for over ten years.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. She lives in West Vancouver with her husband and two children, and enjoys swimming, hiking, gardening, long walks with her dog Hazel, and reading.

Annabelle Donovan has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources working as an Executive and senior leader in the public sector and as a leadership and strategic planning consultant in a wide variety of industries. She began her career as a lawyer specializing in labour, employment, and human rights law. Since her retirement in 2023, Annabelle has been an active volunteer in her community, chairing the Heart and Stroke Foundation Pacific Advisory Board and serving on the Harvest Project Board of Directors and the BCIT Board of Governors. She was recently awarded the King Charles medal for community service. Throughout her career, Annabelle has been an advocate for inclusivity and women’s health.
Annabelle and her family are long-time residents of West Vancouver. She has been a library user from a very early age. She loves spending time outside on the North Shore and enjoys reading, cycling, swimming, and walks with her dog Akiaha.

Emma He has called West Vancouver home for over ten years and is deeply passionate about education, community building, and cultural sharing. She currently works as a Project Manager at a local digital health technology company, where she coordinates the development of a digital fitness product designed for middle-aged and older adults.
With a background in technology and project management from previous roles at Panasonic R&D Center China and Hitachi, Ltd. in Japan, Emma brings strong organizational and communication skills to her volunteer efforts.
She holds a Master of Engineering in Production Engineering from Waseda University and a Bachelor of Economics, with a focus on Business Japanese. Emma is a lifelong learner and a dedicated patron of her local library. On weekends, you can often find her playing pickleball or hiking with family and friends along the beautiful North Shore trails.

Heather Kaart has over 30 years of experience in marketing, market research, data and analytics, program management, and business transformation. She has worked across financial services, telecommunications, not-for-profit, and tourism, and is dedicated to using data to derive insights that help organizations excel.
Heather has lived in West Vancouver for over twenty years and is now retired. A keen reader and supporter of public libraries, she served for six years on the Library’s Foundation Board and continues her involvement as a Trustee on the Library Board. She enjoys playing tennis, skiing, hiking the North Shore with her dogs, and learning how to weave.

Patricia Morris has over 35 years of experience developing adult learning in colleges, universities, and workplace settings. She has managed distributed learning at North Island College, facilitated professional faculty development across BC colleges, served as Quality Assurance Director for Divine Word University in Papua New Guinea, and worked as Training Manager at MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates. She holds a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto.
A frequent reader of fiction, non-fiction, and audiobooks from the West Vancouver Memorial Library, Patricia also attends its community programs and is a proud supporter of public libraries. She lives in a seniors’ equity co-op in Ambleside on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), shared with the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ílwətaɬ) and Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) Nations, and enjoys paddleboarding, kayaking, and beach walks.

Alastair Nimmons, CPA, CA brings more than 30 years of experience in strategic planning, financial management, and corporate governance across the public, private, and non-profit sectors in Canada, US and UK. A former partner at KPMG, Alastair has advised municipalities, Crown corporations, federal agencies, and global companies on transforming their finance functions and strengthening sustainability reporting. During his time in public practice, he managed an international network of finance transformation professionals spanning 33 countries and led the independent assurance of sustainability reporting for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, an Olympic first. In industry, Alastair has served as Chief Financial Officer or interim CFO for several organizations, including DIGITAL (Canada’s federally funded global innovation cluster), Mountain Equipment Co-op, Native Shoes, and Destination Canada.
Alastair is past Chair of Enhance West Van, where he served the maximum seven-year board term, including two years as Treasurer, and led the development of the organization’s renewed strategic plan. He is also a past Chair of the West Vancouver Memorial Library Board and former Chair of its Finance Committee. He is currently serving his final year on the board after reaching the maximum tenure. A West Vancouver resident with his family for more than 24 years, Alastair enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, including dog walking, trail running, cycling, skiing, and adventure racing.

Sahar Sanajou is a community-focused finance and governance professional with experience supporting public-interest organizations through strong stewardship and inclusive, community-driven service.
She brings nearly a decade of frontline financial services experience with CIBC, including roles as Financial Service Associate and Customer Service Representative, grounded in client service, administrative support, and day-to-day operational excellence.
Sahar also serves as Treasurer for the Presentation House Theatre Board in North Vancouver. Past volunteer experiences include serving as a Parent Advisory Council representative for Chartwell Elementary and work with Impact North Shore as a conversation leader and language instructor for newcomers, supporting integration and cross-cultural connection.

Dana M. Taylor served as Interim Executive Director of the Green Party of Canada (2020–2022), leading national operations, and previously spent nearly 30 years as Executive Vice President & CEO of the Mechanical Contractors’ Association of British Columbia. His career also includes senior roles in economic development and construction associations, as well as participation in international trade initiatives in China related to high-tech environmental partnerships. He has served on numerous provincial, national, and North American industry boards and advisory bodies.
First elected as a City of North Vancouver Councillor (1983–1987), Dana has held leadership roles with organizations including North Shore Neighbourhood House, the North Vancouver Recreation Commission, the Community Arts Council, Lonsdale Quay Development Board, and the Save Howe Sound Society. He has also been active at the provincial and federal levels as a political candidate and director.

Sharon Thompson is serving her second term on Council and recently concluded a seven-year role as a constituency assistant in the riding of West Vancouver–Sea to Sky. In her provincial role, she engaged with six Municipal and two First Nations councils, the Squamish Lillooet Regional District (SLRD), Electoral Area A (Metro) communities, and the Federal Government to collaborate with Provincial Ministries. She holds a degree in Urban Geography from UBC and a diploma in Civic Engagement and Dialogue from SFU.
A resident of West Vancouver for almost 40 years, Sharon raised three daughters in the community. She has been an active volunteer and advocate for West Vancouver, and is a member of the Rotary Club of West Vancouver Sunrise, Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative, and the Caulfeild Park Stewardship group.

Tracy Wachman is a lawyer with a broad legal career, including regulation of professionals, general civil litigation, labour law, and the intersection of Aboriginal/Indigenous and environmental law. She has worked closely with non-profits and various levels of government in areas such as land use planning and community support for families, and is currently a director of West Coast Environmental Law.
Tracy developed the University of British Columbia law school’s Public Interest Coordinator role, supporting students pursuing public interest legal careers, and received the UBC President’s Community Engagement Award in 2020 for this work. A resident of West Vancouver since 1984, she recently retired to spend more time reading, kayaking the West Coast, and hiking.
