Mason Bee Cocoon Washing Demonstration
Thursday, February 1 at 6 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
FreeHave you ever wondered how to safely and effectively wash mason bee cocoons to ready your hibernating bees for the coming Spring? Join the library’s resident mason bee expert, Taren Urquhart, for a 30-minute lecture followed by a cocoon washing party.
Participants are welcome to bring their own full mason bee houses, and we will clean cocoons together. Expect to get dirty and find fascinating insects hibernating in our bee houses. All equipment will be provided. Please dress appropriately.
Learn more about WVML’s 2024 bee house lending program here.
Please register for only one of the dates listed below and enter each participants name separately. Smaller class sizes will allow participants to share discoveries and ask detailed questions of the instructor.
