Join us for a special evening of insight and inspiration with one of Canada’s foremost art collectors and philanthropists, Michael Audain, as he discusses his distinguished and diverse collection of Canadian and international art.
The evening will begin with a Traditional Welcome offered by Chepximiya Siyam’ Chief Janice George of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).

About the speaker
Michael Audain is Chairman of Polygon Homes Ltd., one of British Columbia’s leading home builders. A fifth-generation British Columbian and an active supporter of the arts, Mr. Audain is Chair of the Audain Foundation, the Jean Paul Riopelle Foundation, and the Audain Art Museum Foundation. He is past Chair of the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery. He is also a Trustee of the Audain Art Museum, Director of the Art Canada Institute and the Council for Canadian American Relations, and Director Emeritus of the National Gallery of Canada Foundation.
Mr. Audain has been appointed to the Order of Canada, the Order of British Columbia, and the Ordres des mécènes à Québec. He has also received six honorary university degrees and the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals.
Married to Yoshiko Karasawa, Mr. Audain has two children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Chepximiya Siyam’ Chief Janice George is an hereditary chief of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw. She is an acclaimed weaver, educator, and trained museum curator. George is the co-founder of the L’hen Awtxw Weaving House and the co-author of Salish Blankets: Robes of Protection and Transformation, Symbols of Wealth.
