Call for Artists – Ongoing
The West Vancouver Memorial Library recognizes that the arts are a distinguishing characteristic of our community’s identity. Our mission is to provide artists with a unique community space to showcase their work and invite the public to share in the celebration of creativity and diversity. We aim to present two shows per year that are dedicated to featuring community artists in a setting that invites connection and reflection.
WVML invites visual artists to submit work for our 2024 exhibit space. Submissions are open to emerging and professional artists that work across the Lower Mainland. Selected artists will be scheduled for a 6 to 8 week group exhibition of several artists.
Please complete the form below and attach up to 10 pieces of artwork for review. Please do not submit work that has been displayed by any other community art gallery space in West Vancouver within the last year. Artwork may be in any medium and must be gallery ready (frame, hanging hooks, etc) and available for display. Delivery and shipping fees are at the artist’s expense. Maximum dimensions: free-standing sculpture/3D work cannot exceed 16” (height) and 12” (length/width); for 2D works, no larger than 2 meters in width.
A 15% commission will be retained by WVML if work is sold (not-for-sale stickers may be displayed).
If chosen, artists will be supplied with an exhibition contract proof for review and further detailed information. Please direct any questions to Taren Urquhart, Arts and Special Events Programmer, at turquhart@westvanlibrary.ca or 604.925.7446.
