All School District 45 students and staff are eligible for a free WVML card that gives full access to our physical and digital collections. Apply for a card here.
Looking for something you don’t see here? We’ll do our best to customize something for your group.
Preschool + Primary Grades
In addition to facilitating a short virtual storytime, we can talk to young children about how a library card works and the concept of sharing/borrowing. We prioritize groups where parents/caregivers are present, or where information on getting a library card can be sent to them afterwards.
Student Support Workshops
Tailored to grade and student needs, these workshops can include:
- research/inquiry topic selection
- how to use research databases not available through West Van Schools
- book talks on new or high-interest titles
Lab Visits
For Grades 2 – 3; in-Library only (unavailable until further notice)
We can occasionally accommodate smaller groups of older kids and teens (maximum 12).
This is a playful, station-based introduction to some of the different tech toys we have in the Lab with an emphasis on computational thinking, problem-solving, and communication.
Research to Remember Visits
For Grades 8 – 12; in-Library preferred (unavailable until further notice)
Students make a tangible connection to 24 WWI and WWII soldiers on the West Vancouver cenotaph through the exploration of primary source documents relating to their lives (including personal correspondence, records of service, photographs, and more). Please allow 1.5 – 2 hours for this experience.
Anyone can also check out a Research to Remember binder anytime to use independently with their class.
