Interested in the latest reading, listening and viewing technology? We can show you a range of popular devices, guide you in using them and send you home with a device to try.

Video Tablets

NetflixOur video tablets let you try streaming video from:

  • Netflix, Crackle
  • CBC, National Film Board, Internet Archive
  • Qello Concerts

If you don't have access to wifi, the tablets have a selection of downloaded movies.

Ask at the Information Desk on the main floor or place a hold in our catalogue.


Kindle next to a stack of books

West Vancouver Memorial Library was the first Library in Canada to lend e-readers. Our Kindles each have 15 titles for you to enjoy. Choose from:

We also have Kids Kindles and Teen Kindles with over 100 current, popular titles each.

Kindles come with basic instructions, and we are happy to show you how to use them. The loan period is 21 days. Visit the Information Desk on the Main Floor or Youth Department.

Other Technology available at the Library

In addition to e-readers and video tablets, we have other technology available to use. There is a tablet in the Peter J Peters Reading Room with Digital Magazines, two tablets in the Musto Lounge with news and some apps loaded on them, and in the Youth department there are tablets available with pre-loaded apps recommended by our librarians for you to try while you visit.

You can also take home a technology kit to learn about technology at home!

To borrow a kit, visit the Youth Department or the Community Computing Centre.

Ipad Learn & Loan

Beginners who register for our iPad Learn & Loan class can borrow an iPad for two weeks. Interested? Visit or call the Community Computing Centre at 604.925.7405.
