Masks are recommended.
Effective March 11, masks are no longer required.
Anyone who wishes to continue wearing a mask may choose to do so and that choice is respected.
What you can expect when you visit WVML
Discontinued quarantine
We are no longer quarantining materials before returning them to the shelves. This follows an announcement from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BC CDC) that says “the risk of transmission between users of borrowed items is very low.”
This way, we can get you the materials you want even faster.
Still concerned? You can always quarantine your checked out materials at home for 72 hours before enjoying them.
New hours
Our new hours are 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday – Sunday.
Reduced occupancy & limited individual seating
This means you may need to wait to enter the Library or the Youth Department until we can accommodate you. Due to reduced occupancy, we have a limited number seats. Please only use study space as long as you need. We ask that you don’t leave belongings unattended and pack up at least 10 minutes before the Library’s closing time.
Public computers & technology
We have a limited number of public computers available for drop-in use. For computer and device help, you can continue to contact us—our tech staff are happy to help.
Enhanced safety measures
You’ll see lineups, signage, and physical distancing markers throughout the Library. Service desks will be outfitted with plexiglass barriers to keep staff and patrons safe. Our maintenance staff will continue to sanitize high-touch surfaces.
What you can do to help keep the Library safe:
Don’t visit the Library if you are sick or required to self-isolate.
If you have symptoms like headache, fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, please stay home and wait until you’re symptom-free to visit the Library. Don’t visit the Library if you have returned from travel outside of Canada in the past 14 days or may have been exposed to COVID-19. Learn more.
Masks are recommended. Please continue to keep your distance from others.
Remember to practise physical distancing and cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow while using the Library. Don’t forget to frequently wash/sanitize your hands.
