Read Green for a better climate future! Facilitated by our Climate Writer in Residence, Katłįà (Catherine) Lafferty, these sessions will offer insights into the climate crisis and provide the opportunity to discuss meaningful solutions. Empower yourself with the tools to make a difference.
For the February 23 session, we’ll discuss Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass.
We will be joined by Elder Jeff Welch from the T’Sou-ke Nation who will share the traditional method of collecting and preparing cedar.
Limited copies of the book will be available at the Help Desk for registered participants.
Attendees will receive a medicine bundle containing a braid of sweetgrass, cedar, and a seashell. You will receive pick-up instructions upon registration.

Climate change is causing lasting and devastating problems for our world right now. As a hub for information and community-building, the Library is a critical part of the response to this emergency. Climate Future is a community-driven initiative that invites the community to come together to deepen knowledge and take action around the climate crisis.
For this virtual program, we’ll be using Zoom.
What you will need: A computer with microphone (or headphones) and webcam for Zoom; or your smartphone/tablet.
An email address is required for registration. We will email you the Zoom link in advance of the program.
