Paws 4 Stories | Ages 6–12
Friday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m.–5 p.m.
Free
Practise your reading skills by signing up for an appointment to read with Misty, a certified St. John Ambulance therapy dog! Research shows that reading to a dog is tremendously motivational for kids and provides a calming, relaxed environment for children who may feel hesitant or anxious about reading.
Paws 4 Stories runs Fridays, April 21–May 12. Sessions are 20 minutes. Misty wants to meet as many kids as possible. Please only register for a maximum of two sessions during the four-week series. Kids must be school-aged, able to read some English on their own, and feel comfortable reading with a dog and the dog’s adult handler.
For this in-person program:
- Masks are recommended. Anyone who wishes to continue wearing a mask may choose to do so and that choice is respected.
- Capacity may be limited.
Stay home if you are feeling sick. As the COVID-19 situation continues to change, this program may be modified or cancelled.
