If we care about nature and the health of our planet, we must pay attention to where our everyday food comes from. Farming practices are among the most destructive activities on the planet, contributing significantly to environmental crises. However, these same practices have the potential to help restore our planet. Robert Dash’s work explores this subject in the book Food Planet Future and as part of this exhibition.
This photography exhibition, featuring never-before-seen images, transforms food by combining art and science. It invites viewers to rethink the possibilities of Earth-friendly agriculture, igniting imagination and encouraging thoughtful questions.
“I’m drawn to those with spectacular artistic appeal and a significant story related to climate change and ecosystem health. I employ photomontage to blend scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrographs of pollen, seeds, leaves, and other elements with macro photographs, creating a surreal conversation between a food or other object and microscopic parts of itself.”
Dash’s unique photographs and companion book highlight alternative and sustainable practices that could be implemented on a large scale to help combat climate change and biodiversity loss. Regenerative and sustainable agriculture is within our reach, and there is hope—if we choose to listen.
