Family Dot Motion Animation | Ages 6+ [VIRTUAL]

In The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, Vashti learns to make beautiful artwork using only dots on a page. What kind of animated masterpiece can your family make using only dots? Work together as a team to create a short stop motion animation video.
Families are expected to spend about 20 minutes learning before the program.
Adult caregivers stay and play during this program.

Family Dot Motion Animation is part of Booktopia, West Vancouver’s Literary Arts Festival for young people.
Peter H. Reynolds is a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of many books for children, including Happy Dreamer, The Word Collector, Say Something!, and Be You!. Join one or all of our themed virtual programs prior to Booktopia: Create Bravely – The World Needs Your Voice! with Peter H. Reynolds on February 24!
Booktopia is a partnership between the West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation and West Vancouver Schools.
What you’ll need: An iPad, iPhone or tablet to make the movie, plus a computer with microphone (or headphones) and webcam for Zoom. Parents and caregivers can find information on creating a Zoom account here.
We will use the “waiting room” feature on Zoom to let participants into the program one by one to keep things safe.
Please register one member per family — you can all join in!
An email address is required for registration. We will email you the Zoom link and more instructions 24 hours in advance of the program.
