Circuit Boards and C++ with Koala Koders | Ages 9 – 12

How does electricity work? How can we use electricity and coding to create machines? In this class, you will use TinkerCAD to explore a world of electrical engineering and learn about C++ to apply coding to circuit board projects. By the end of this 4-week course, you will have created four projects that each explore a new aspect of electrical engineering such as using LEDs, temperature sensors, and blinking lights. We will use C++ to make all these components come to life!

Registration is required and opens March 1 at 10 a.m. Registering more than one child? Please register each one separately. Caregivers of children younger than 10 years old must stay in the library for the duration of the program.

This is a series of four classes: April 12, 19, 16, May 3, 3:45-5:00pm. By registering for one, you are registered for all. Please only register if you plan to attend all four classes.

About Koala Koders
Koala Koders started in May of 2022 with the goal to provide free coding education to kids and teens around the Vancouver area. Through Koala Koders, students will learn about fundamental coding concepts, how to create their own projects, and more, all while having fun doing so! Koala Koders is currently established at the North Vancouver District Library, North Vancouver City Library, and West Vancouver Memorial Library. We hope to engage our students and give them a jumpstart into the world of STEM!

For this in-person program:

• Masks are recommended. Anyone who wishes to continue wearing a mask may choose to do so and that choice is respected.
• There are no restrictions on in-person events, per Public Health updates.
• Capacity may be limited.
