A small brown and red treasure box sits on a sandy beach. Blue water is visible at the top of the image.

“While taking out the recycling, you find a crumpled piece of paper that looks almost like a treasure map. Do you…?”

Learn how to use Inklewriter to help you write your own Choose Your Own Adventure story. Inklewriter is a write-as-you-play tool for creating and sharing branching stories.

Kids are expected to spend about 20 minutes learning before the program. You will receive and email with instructions and activities 24 hours before the class.

Booktopia

Choose Your Own Adventure: Treasure Hunt! is part of Booktopia, West Vancouver’s Literary Arts Festival for young people.

From treasure hunts to heists to card tournaments, Varian Johnson writes about kids who use their strengths in both extraordinary situations and everyday life. Join us on January 27th for a virtual visit with Varian at Booktopia: Reader! Engineer! Author! with Varian Johnson!

Booktopia is a partnership between the West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation and West Vancouver Schools.

What you’ll need: A computer with microphone (or headphones) and webcam for Zoom. Parents and caregivers can find information on creating a Zoom account here.

We will use the “waiting room” feature on Zoom to let participants into the program one by one to keep things safe.

An email address is required for registration. We will email you the Zoom link and more instructions 24 hours in advance of the program.
