Booktopia: A Conversation & Live Drawing Demonstration with Jerry Craft

Thursday, January 21 at 1:30 p.m.–2:15 p.m.

Free
  • « Book Club Social: Ann Patchett’s Dutch House [VIRTUAL]
  • Storytime [INSTAGRAM LIVE] »

This is a big one!

Join 2020 Newbery Award winner Jerry Craft in conversation with Head of Youth Services, Shannon Ozirny. They’ll be talking all about his hilarious and ground-breaking graphic novel, New Kid as well as the brand new companion book, Class Act. Jerry will also treat us to a live drawing demonstration.

Have a question for Jerry? We want to hear from you! Send it in advance to youth@westvanlibrary.ca or email us during the live discussion (we will have a librarian monitoring email and passing questions along to Shannon).

This event will not include a reading, so we recommend checking out a physical or digital copy of New Kid and Class Act in advance.

All are welcome, but Jerry’s books are best for Grades 4+.

EVENT LINK: Watch live on the Library Youtube Channel. A link will also be posted to our homepage a half hour before the event. You don’t need a YouTube account to watch. Sign up below to receive a reminder and the link via email in advance of the event.

Please note that a recording of this event will be only be available until February 21, 2021.
