Interested in the latest reading, listening and viewing technology? The Library is the place to come. We can show you a range of popular devices, guide you in using them and send you home with a device to try.

Video Tablets

NetflixWe are now lending Video Tablets!  Borrow one for 21 days and try out streaming video from:

  • Netflix, Crackle
  • CBC, National Film Board, Internet Archive
  • Qello Concerts

For those who don't have access to wifi, they also have a small selection of downloaded movies.

To borrow a Video Tablet, visit the Main Floor Information Desk or place a hold in our catalogue. 


Kindle next to a stack of books

West Vancouver Memorial Library was the first Library in Canada to lend e-readers. Our Kindles each have 15 titles for you to enjoy. Choose from:

We also have six Kids and Teen Kindles with over 100 titles each including the Harry Potter series, Big Nate, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the Book Thief.

You can borrow a Kindle for 21 days. They come with basic instructions but if you have questions, we're happy to help.  

To borrow a Kindle, visit the Information Desk on the Main Floor or Youth Department.

Other Technology available at the Library

In addition to e-readers and video tablets, we have other technology available to use. There is a tablet in the Peter J Peters Reading Room with Digital Magazines, two tablets in the Musto Lounge with news and some apps loaded on them, and in the Youth department there are tablets available with pre-loaded apps recommended by our librarians for you to try while you visit.

Ipad Learn & Loan

Each month we offer a hands-on iPad class for beginners. At the end of the class, you can borrow an iPad for two weeks. Interested? Inquire at the Community Computing Centre (604-925-7405).
