Lessons in 65 languages (including English). Once you've signed up for an account on our website, you can download Mango's app for iOS or android and learn on your mobile device.

Tip: Check out Mango's voice comparison feature - available on some slides. Just look for the the microphone icon next to the word or phrase.

Courses in 40 languages include interactive videos, games and self-assessment tests. This is an archived site but still extremely rich and useful.

Duolingo

A highly rated free language learning program. Choose a language, create an account, take the placement test and get started learning. Languages include: English, Arabic, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

A great online resource for English language learners with grammar guides, reading and listening exercises,  pronunciation tips, test preparation and more!

FirstVoices

An internationally recognized online Indigenous language archiving and teaching resource that allows indigenous communities to document their language for future generations. Includes over 40 First nation communities in British Columbia.

Google Translate

Translate a word, phrase, or sign up to translate an entire document. It's definitely not perfect--use a skilled human translator for important documents--but it's great for short, quick translations, and getting better every day!
